War → WWII → Execution of Lepa Radic
Seventeen year old Lepa Radic was publicly hanged from the branch of a tree, in Bosanska Krupa in Bosnia in January 1943, for shooting at German soldiers.
She was made to stand on a large chest, her hands were tied behind her and she was noosed with a thin cord. The chest was pulled away leaving her suspended.

| It's my understanding that she is considered quiet a hero in her part of the world (around Belgrade.) Lepa did a lot more that just "shooting at" Germans. She was with the resistance for about a year before her execution. |

| Hate to say this, but at that time she had no rights under the Geneva Convention. Allied and Soviet forces did the same to irregulars they captured. |
