Accident → Eighteen year girl... fatal crash
The enclosed pics are from a fatal crash on the afternoon of Halloween 2006, on the 241 Toll Road at Alton Pkwy. in Southern Ca.
The driver was an 18 year who took her father's brand new Porsche out for a spin without permission after getting drunk.
Two 911 calls came in about three minutes before she crashed. One was from her dad saying she just left the house with his car without
permission, the other call was from a neighbor saying she peeled out at about 60+ around the corner in the neighborhood.
Within five miles from her house and a three minute time frame, she managed to get the car on the 241 Freeway at well over 100 MPH where she ran into an unsuspecting driver in a Honda, and then into one of the toll booths.
Nicole Catsouras, 18, lost control of a black Porsche 911 Carrera while attempting to pass another vehicle at more than 100 mph, California Highway Patrol officials said.
The Porsche crossed the center median, traveled across north lanes and the Alton Parkway southbound on-ramp, before colliding into a toll booth building.
Catsouras was pronounced dead at the scene from head trauma.
Police said she was attempting to pass a gray Honda Civic traveling about 70 mph in the far left lane, when the Porsche clipped the Honda and lost control.
The Honda then veered to the left and hit the center median.
The driver of the Honda, a 20-year-old man from Rancho Santa Margarita, was taken by ambulance to Mission Hospital with minor to moderate injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

| I just caught my, newly 3 months licensed, 16 year old driving at 88 mph on the highway. Her answer was I was wearing my seat-belt though! My navigation system records the speeds. Needless to say I flipped. I took her to the police station and they said to go back to her drivers ed school and have her redo a safety course,I took her car, keys, title, dragged her to a friends recent accident site from speeding, make huge poster boards signs that read Honk if a speeder changed your life and I was caught speeding with a big 88 mph and had her stand on the side of the road. But it wasn't until I cam across this site and showed her did she finally break down and cry and understood. I said to her do you want your Dad to have to come down and see that and ID your body or worse yet what is left of it. This is a sad moment but it did the job of getting through to her. I'm sorry for her parents loss. |
