Female genital cutting, also known as female genital mutilation, female circumcision or female genital mutilation/cutting, refers to all procedures involving partial or total removal of the external female genitalia or other injury to the female genital organs whether for cultural, religious or other non-therapeutic reasons. It is practiced throughout the world, with the practice concentrated most heavily in Africa.

| this is NOT FGM this is a woman who WILLINGLY had her labia cut off. FGM is done by the girl's (child's) mother/grandmother/aunt etc and elder tribeswoman. There is NO disinfectant, NO rubber gloves, NO scapal, NO ANESTHESIA. The CHILD is held down by her female relatives, he labia, clitoris and clitoris hood are cut/sawed off by whatever sharp instrument happens to be on hand. THEN their outer vaginal lips are sewn together leaving a small opening for urine (which burns like hell on open wounds) and menstrual blood when they begin their periods. There is NO pain medication and NO antibiotics. Those that don't die from infection or blood loss spend the rest of their lives dealing with the fallout. That includes fertility. Many have a hard time becomming pregnant, those that do have a hard time during delivery. If mother and child survive the birth, the mother is immediatly sewn back up. It is gross and disgusting and traumatic and beyond discription. |
