Leprosy or Hansen's disease, is a chronic incurable disease caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium leprae. Leprosy causes permanent damage to the skin, nerves, limbs and eyes. Contrary to popular belief, leprosy does not actually cause body parts to simply fall off.

| Lol? for one, leprosy is cureable. And also, the second to last picture is laughable... leprosy does not, NOT, cause bone disfigurement. It causes bone waisting, skin lesions and other stuff. not defiguration... worst... article... ever. |
