Medical → Homelessness in the United States
Those homeless man did not seek for medical help for two weeks. Now you can see how his wound got infested with maggots over that time.
As many as 3.5 million people experience homelessness in a given year (1% of the entire U.S. population or 10% of its poor), and about 842,000 people in any given week.

this is one of my worst fears when homeless ppl board the buses/subway, that they might have conditions like this poor sod. i feel sick |

| Don't they sometimes use maggots in medicine to get the infection out of wounds. It's probably good for him the came or most likely he would have been septic I think the word is. that would have killed him quick. |
