Suicide → Suicide risk in schizophrenia
Approximately 30% to 40% of people with schizophrenia attempt suicide at some point in their lifetime. About 10% will actually die by suicide... like that man!
This suicide happened in Russia.

| I guess that when they get to this point where they want to kill themselves indicates that doctors and society has given up on them. Let them be and they will soon choose their deadly path to self destruction. |

| I agree with Azathoth to an extent, but it's all relative. If we didn't by nature try to imbue life with meaning (it is the void that the human trait "imagination" leaves gaping) we would be able to cope better. Unfortunately our culture, particularly in the West, glorifies humanity's purpose too much, particularly as individuals (the whole idea of the "soul", which society takes as the ego where it should, if anything, be the essence), hence we feel we must feel we are working towards something. Like a glorified virus - domination and control of everything we can. Civilisation is nothing but fear of nature. |
