The nuclear weapon "Little Boy" was dropped on the city of Hiroshima (Japan) on Monday, August 6, 1945 by the United States at the executive order of U.S. President Harry S. Truman... 140,000 people were killed.

| The concept of war is horrific. The Japanese military raped and murdered far more civilians in Manchuria than the number killed by the bomb. The bomb prevented the deaths of many thousands by making a mainland invasion unnecessary. But then, millions of innocent Japanese civilians had to die from the bomb. WWII caused the death of 55 million - it was a horrible testament to the brutality of our species. We all remain guilty unless we can learn from this tragic lesson and not repeat it. |
