The nuclear weapon "Little Boy" was dropped on the city of Hiroshima (Japan) on Monday, August 6, 1945 by the United States at the executive order of U.S. President Harry S. Truman... 140,000 people were killed.

| Hideous, but minimal loss of life, considering the option. Remember the many lost Japanese soldiers in the Philippines, who remained loyal and in hiding? That's loyalty to the point of zelotry. If the US had landed, touched the sacred soil, every citizen would have become a fanatic. Hiroshima, Nagasake, these names I say in a hush of sober respect; I'm glad I don't have to say "Japan" thay way. |
