The nuclear weapon "Little Boy" was dropped on the city of Hiroshima (Japan) on Monday, August 6, 1945 by the United States at the executive order of U.S. President Harry S. Truman... 140,000 people were killed.

| @peace: i agree with you but from truman's point of view it was invade and lose about 1,000,000 troops and marines or drop the bomb and save those lives its like a sacrifice for a sacrifice thing... had we invaded the mainland the war would have lasted for about a year or more and in which the japs would have gotten their hands on jet fighters and they could have very well have deployed their own nuclear weapons ( *the japs were in development of their own jets and they were also close to testing their own atomic bombs as well*.) been awhile since i read up on WWII. |
