Medical → Granuloma inguinale
Granuloma inguinale (also known as donovanosis) is a bacterial disease. The disease is characterized by painless genital ulcers which can be mistaken for syphilis. The lesions occur at the region of contact typically found on the shaft of the penis, the labia, or the perineum. The lesions ultimately progress to destruction of internal and external tissue.

| I am disturbed by the inability of the body to produce an immune defense against VDs (or STDs). Thus these dig in deep and ravage the victim. I also wonder about the lack of vaccinations against STDs AND for leprosy and TB. |

| That's what is left of the poor bastard's scrotum. It also looks like he has a Foley catheter that's probably inserted into the tip of his penis (or sometimes it's inserted suprapublicly- into the bladder a few inches below the navel) to collect urine in a bag and prevent contamination of the site being treated. The compromised tissue being so close to his rectum does not help as fecal contamination brings more bugs. |
