The bruising around the cuts isn't actually abnormal. Blood still pools in an undrained body, and will leak into the tissue when the vessels are cut.
The clues are otherwise. The bruising on a corpse will not be reddish and purplish. You will see green, yellow, and some vaguely brown-purple tones.
Also, her jaw is held in place. A corpse laying on its back, with no muscle tone, will have a slack jaw that sinks backwards. Even with rigor mortis, the jaw would not line up perfectly into the maxilla. |
