The atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were nuclear attacks during World War II against the Empire of Japan by the United States of America under US President Harry S. Truman. On August 6, 1945, the first choice target, Hiroshima, was having clear weather. At 8:15 a.m. (local time), the Enola Gay's door sprang open and dropped "Little Boy." The bomb exploded 1,900 feet above the city and only missed the target, the Aioi Bridge, by approximately 800 feet. Staff Sergeant George Caron, the tail gunner, described what he saw: "The mushroom cloud itself was a spectacular sight, a bubbling mass of purple-gray smoke and you could see it had a red core in it and everything was burning inside... It looked like lava or molasses covering a whole city..." The cloud is estimated to have reached a height of 40,000 feet.
Hiroshima's population has been estimated at 350,000; approximately 70,000 died immediately from the explosion and another 70,000 died from radiation within five years. A survivor described the damage to people: "The appearance of people was... well, they all had skin blackened by burns... They had no hair because their hair was burned, and at a glance you couldn't tell whether you were looking at them from in front or in back... They held their arms bent [forward] like this... and their skin - not only on their hands, but on their faces and bodies too - hung down... If there had been only one or two such people... perhaps I would not have had such a strong impression. But wherever I walked I met these people... Many of them died along the road - I can still picture them in my mind -- like walking ghosts..."
@cdog: I`m looking at your nickname and re-reading your post and I`m thinking - you are one fuckin (probably black) piece of shit! How could you say something like that?! There is something wrong with you and with a lot of you americans! Luckely there are still a few normal people living in USA... I think, I believe, I hope!!!
Can you imagine the lives ended after all of this? Children, Babies, elderly, teens (ect) just gone.... And for what? A stupid war? Can you imagine the fear? the instant pain? I can say the only good thing about any of the things that happened o this day is that the lives that were ended; were ended quickly and painlessly. Imagine, not being able to even getting a running chance. I understand that we have been attacked over and over again by muiltiple countries but wouldnt it be more adknowledgable to get the bastards that got us? And grant life to the people that had no part in it? I would say it would have been smarter for there lazy asses to go in there personally and take care of the problem makers instead of killing a whole entire population of innocent people. Imagine a life without atomic bombs, and war... Bombing for peace is like fucking for virginity <3
I suggest you to read more before you write your stupid opinions. America used the bomb after the war finished. There were some US Genarals saying the war is over and not necessary to use the bomb but most of the US army guys wanted to see how big the power was. There was a good opportunity to try the weapon. If you search more you will find out that they bomb exploded 500 meters before it touched the ground. Why, because it is more effective and kills more people. It was only an experimental bomb and nothing to do with the war. Hiroshima and Nagasaki was not necessary at all. The war already finished. Please study more about what you are writing about. By the way I am not Japanese.
Japan started it but the US ended it. It does
matter who started it because when the
shooting is over what is written in the history
books will show what shitheads started it. Was
it right to nuke civilians? Fuck yea. And you
know what? The japanese would have done
the same thing if they had the nukes and a
method of transporting them to target. The
Germans were trying to develope nukes but
were too slow or they would have used them.
It is a proven fact that every weapon made on
this planet has been or will be used in war.
The statement "war is hell" is all too true.
Anyone who sees it as exciting or fun needs to
be locked up in a well padded room.
@Djae It doesn't matter who attacked who first. Neither side deserved the nightmare that happened to them. It's just like saying " He hit me first.” Really, I don't give a fuck who did it first. Killing 3,000 or however many died at Pearl Harbor isn't any better than killing 70.000 at Hiroshima or vice versa. War is hell, but we can learn from this hell and make sure nothing like this happens again.
Fuck you kanjo
actually the pilots that carried this out
never cheered or even spoke after they
dropped the first bomb. some were
interviewed and alot considered suicide
Us Americans did this ??? We should be
ashamed in ourselves :'(
i think he looks hot personaly is he avail;able???
The photographs of the person described as a victim of the Hiroshima atomic bomb is NOT a victim of the atomic bomb. He has leprosy. If you don't wish to trust me in this, send the picture to Japanese NHK broadcasting and they will verify it from their programming.
