War → WWII → Hanged corpse of Iris Versari (08/19/1944)
Iris Versari was an active participant of Italian resistance during the WWII. Iris with her friends (Silvio Corbari, Arturo Spazzoli, and Adriano Casadei) were ambushed by Nazi in Tredozio (Italy) on 08/18/1944. She was severely wounded by Nazi soldiers. And she killed herself in order to prevent her frends from dragging her and allow them to escape from Nazi.
Her corpse and the corpse of her friend Arturo Spazzoli were hanged by the neck on the Central Square of Forli (Italy) on 08/19/1944 for a whole week.

| A true hero. Upon reading about WWII and all the Nazi resistance groups I have come to realize the many female heros. I wonder why I have not heard much about them prior to seeking out the information on my own. I wonder why traditional history does not point them out? Maybe it is the source of what I have been exposed to as "traditional history". I find it appalling that the so called history taught in the public schools in the US is so inaccurate and crafted to suit certain agendas. |
