Medical → Brown Recluse spider bite
The brown recluse spider is native to the United States from the southern Midwest south to the Gulf of Mexico.
Actual brown recluse bites are rare. A minority of bites form a necrotizing ulcer that destroys soft tissue and may take months and possibly (very rarely) years to heal, leaving deep scars.

I was bit by a brown recluse on my for-arm. By the time I decided to go to the hospital my arm was one thickness from my wrist to my shoulder. It looked like a tube of sausage. It also caused staph infection. The doctors had to lance the wound and "milk" my arm. |
