Brutality → Human shadow on stone steps after A-bombing of Hiroshima (08/06/1945)
The photograph shows the stone steps of the main entrance of Sumitomo Bank in Hiroshima which was only 250 meters from the hypocenter of the atomic explosure on 08/06/1945. It is believed that a person sat down on the steps facing the direction of the hypocenter, possibly waiting for the bank to open. By a flash of the heat rays with temperatures well over a 1,000 degrees or possibly 2,000 degrees centigrade, that person was incineratied on the stone steps. Up to about 10 years after the explosion, the shadow remained clearly on the stones, but exposure to rain and wind has been gradually blurring it. So, when the bank was newly built, the stone steps were removed and are now preserved at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. You can also see the beautiful computer reconstruction of this atomic explosure made by BBC (UK).
Was the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki a war crime? Of course, it's not. It was a war. To stop WWII immediately by killing thousands of people maybe was not a good idea. But you should know that only China's losses in the WWII were approximately 20 million killed by Japanese soldiers! Who could stop it? God bless America!
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
This horror indeed stopped even worse horrors.
God bless America! (??????)
--- God likes war? NO!
posso apostar que isso ainda vai acontecer com os estados unidos da america..
voces mereciam morrer com aquelas bombas...
It was a lot higher than 1,000 or 2,000 degrees centigrade.
I wish this fucking site would stop putting their watermark all over everything like they own it.
>20 million killed by Japanese soldiers
This is too too large number. It is impossible. Besides Japanese troops was very busy to fight.
There was no time, no ammunition to do such useless thing.
But I know what Korean Japanese soldiers raped & killed Chinese people.
Recently on China's BBS, some Chinese students started to accuse what Korean Japanese soldiers did.
I think this is what Chinese government has done in order to restore a relation toward Japan.
Actually, Japan surrendered to the U.S. because they didn't want to have to fight and surrender to the Soviets. The Red Army was readying to fight Japan now that Germany was vanquished. There was still a lot of bad blood between Russia and Japan over the Russo-Japanese War. It was better to give over to the Yanks than the Ruskies.
Haha attack us again motha fukaaaaaaz lol
And lest we forget... the RAF killed even more people than Hiroshima when they firebombed Dresden for five nights.
Neither bomb was tactically necessary. The Enigma code (which Japan used) had been cracked and the allies were aware that Japan's military was now in very poor shape. They would have been unlikely to have been able to fight for more than anotehr month.
Strategically... Truman dramtically asserted the new post-war US position. To say the bombs saved lives is a myth. Sadly the old version is still taught all these years on.
