Accident → Accidental death after autoerotic asphyxiation
Apparently this young man died as a result of a malfunction of the hanging device for sexual hanging. Exposed victim's genitals and soft padding beneath the noose are common findings in the crime scenes.
Of the various types of abnormal sexual behavior ("paraphilias"), the most dangerous and bizarre is autoerotic asphyxiation (also known as "sexual hanging").
Autoerotic asphyxiation is the practice of inducing cerebral hypoxia, usually by means of self-applied ligatures or suffocating devices, while the individual masturbates to orgasm. Up to 375 young males (at the age of 15-25 years) probably have taken their lives through the practice of this illegal sexual activity in the U.S.A. in 2002. At least one autoerotic asphyxiation death a day occurs in the U.S.A.
