Terrorism → Hostage → Beslan school siege (09/01/2004)
The Beslan school siege began when a group of armed Chechen separatists took more than 1,200 schoolchildren and adults hostage on September 1, 2004, at School Number One in the town of Beslan, North Ossetia-Alania, (an autonomous republic in the North Caucasus region of the Russian Federation).
334 civilians were killed, including 186 children, and hundreds were wounded. Chechen terrorist Shamil Basayev took responsibility for the hostage taking.

| Tragic! I think the the separatists of Chechnia need to disappear! I can't believe he Russian government would allow this country to still exist, after all they've been through, with Nazi invasion, and the way they commanded the break-away state of Georgia, not to long ago. Chechens need to be a past civilization! And sorry Amigo, you cannot help religious zealots! |
