The First Chechen War was fought between Russia and Chechnya from 1994 to 1996 and resulted in Chechnya's independence from Russia. By one conservative estimate there were 7,500 Russian military, 4,000 Chechen combatant, and more than 35,000 civilian deaths.

| When I saw this for the first time when I was... 13/14, it was my first real-life snuff footage. I had always hoped to come across something like it so I felt a bit sick to the stomach and I was mesmerized, but I was at my brother's place, and at the time I didn't know how to save it for future reference. Today, many years later, I am quite desensitized. This version on Charonboat (or the majority of other websites) is toned down as I clearly recall the moment the blade slashed outward from the throat, spilling a large amount of blood. They then proceed to cut some more until after the fade-in of the edited version. I'm still trying to find the original version. |
